3. The ECG series solar controllers are equipped with self-testing and electronic protection features that effectively prevent damage to the controller or battery during installation errors or system failures, ensuring system reliability and stability.

Function

• Photovoltaic array short circuit

• When a short circuit occurs in the photovoltaic array, the controller will stop charging. Correct the short circuit fault to resume operation.

• Photovoltaic input overcurrent

• The controller limits the battery charging current to the maximum rated current value. Therefore, overcurrent from the PV array will prevent operation at peak power.

• Load overcurrent protection

• When the load current reaches the rated value, the controller automatically turns off the DC output. The output will then be rechecked for 5 minutes to detect whether the overcurrent continues to exist.

• Photovoltaic polarity reversal

• If the PV wiring polarity is reversed, the controller will not operate. Proper connection is required to resume normal operation.

• Battery polarity reversed

• Likewise, if the battery wiring polarity is reversed, the controller will not function until the correct connections are restored.

• Overtemperature

• When the controller radiator temperature exceeds 65°C, it automatically starts to reduce the charging current. If it exceeds 80℃, the controller automatically shuts down
